SUMMARY:Outcome MEPC 71
DESCRIPTION:The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) will hold its 71st session from 3 -7th July. In order to present you the latest news and outcome from the session\, we invited Stamatis Fradelos\, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as a speaker. Mr. Fradelos is ABS’ representative on the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) Environmental Panel and he is representing IACS in IMO MEPC working groups and intersessional correspondence groups. During this seminar a special focus will be put on the Ballast Water Management Convention (BWMC). Regarding the BWMC the implementation scheme with the D-2 standard for new and existing ships is still unsettled and important decisions are expected at MEPC 71 session. \nSupported by Reederverein Ems-Dollart e.
